IndyCar Rookie of the Year, Dominic Dobson, sponsored by Sport Clips Haircuts and TriArc Electric Supply, are pleased to announce Dobson’s 1st place win in the Unlimited Division in Sunday’s 93rd running of The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. His time of 10:15.289 in the GoProMotorsports.com-owned 2010 Radical SR8 sports car also earned him the coveted Rookie of the Year award.

Dobson has raced in many different forms of motorsports in his career, including the Indy 500, Le-Mans 24hr, Daytona 24hr, Sebring 12hr, Baja 1000, Goodwood Festival of Speed, as well as NASCAR and Touring Car events, and had long had the historic Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on his bucket list. When Dobson contacted George Scott of GoProMotorsports.com about driving his car up Pikes Peak, neither of them thought they would achieve all that they did. They flew in crewmembers and car parts from Europe, and across the U.S., loaded up the car, and headed to America’s Mountain. Dobson owes much of his success on the mountain to practicing over and over on a simulator created by Maher Solutions in preparations for race day.

“We never expected to do this well, this is an operation that was put together in a couple of months,” stated George Scott when asked about the victory. “We would have been happy with just finishing, but Dominic exceeded our expectations, and we couldn’t be happier.” “I’m thrilled that I was able to be here and can’t thank George at GoProMotorsports.com enough for allowing me to use his car as well as our sponsors Sport Clips and TriArc Electric Supply,” stated Dobson when asked about the week. “An Unlimited Class win and Rookie of the Year is far more than we could have hoped for – the team, headed by my long-time friend Steven Costello, did an excellent job on the car and making this all happen.”
